Overview
MPLX’s Crude Oil and Products Logistics segment includes gathering, transportation, storage and distribution of crude oil, refined products, other hydrocarbon-based products and renewables. Our Crude Oil and Products Logistics assets are strategically located across the United States and are integral to Marathon Petroleum’s operations.

Crude Oil and Products Logistics Operations
Our expansive network of well-placed, high-quality assets paired with reliable, efficient operating performance make MPLX a premier partner for inbound and outbound logistics. We strive for continuous improvement and are deploying growth capital on projects that further enhance our capabilities across the full value chain, providing additional flexibility and benefit to our customers.
Pipelines
Our pipeline network includes wholly and jointly owned common carrier crude oil and refined product pipelines throughout the United States.
Storage Caverns
Our storage caverns consist of butane, propane and liquefied petroleum gas storage with locations in Neal, West Virginia; Woodhaven, Michigan; Robinson, Illinois; and Jal, New Mexico.
Terminals and Loading Facilities
Our terminal facilities for the receipt, storage, blending, additization, handling and redelivery of refined petroleum and renewable products are located throughout the United States. Our network of terminals and refinery assets also includes rail and truck loading lanes/racks in addition to barge docks, which support the transportation of hydrocarbon products via rail, over the road or marine.
Tank Farms
MPLX owns tank farm assets at certain Marathon Petroleum refineries in addition to stand-alone tank farms.
Marine Business
Our marine business owns, operates, or manages a diverse suite of global and domestic motor vessels and barges. This includes third-party chartered equipment and a marine repair facility, which is a full-service marine shipyard located on the Ohio River adjacent to Marathon Petroleum’s Catlettsburg, Kentucky, refinery.
Joint Ventures
MPLX has ownership in various joint interests. Just a couple examples are LOOP LLC, the only U.S. deep-water oil port, located offshore of Louisiana, which is used to import and export crude oil; and the Wink-to-Webster crude oil pipeline, which is focused on transporting products from the Permian Basin to the U.S. Gulf Coast.
Fuels Distribution Business
Our fuels distribution business provides Marathon Petroleum and others with a broad range of scheduling services.
Pipeline Safety and Public Engagement
Marathon Pipe Line LLC (MPL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of MPLX and an integral part of our Crude Oil and Products Logistics segment, safely and reliably operating thousands of miles of pipelines and hundreds of storage tanks, as well as storage caverns and marine facilities. Safety is our highest priority, and we make every effort to protect our assets, community and the environment. Through its industry-leading public engagement program Earning Your Trust, MPL engages and educates landowners, community members, schools, emergency officials and others on pipeline safety and infrastructure.

Natural Gas and NGL Services
Located in key resource plays, MPLX’s Natural Gas and NGL Services segment primarily engages in the gathering, processing and transportation of natural gas as well as the gathering, fractionation, storage, transportation, and marketing of NGLs.
Tariffs
Within our business segments, we operate gathering and common carrier pipelines that transport crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids and refined products throughout the United States.
