One of the largest full-service providers in the sector, MPLX owns and operates midstream energy infrastructure and logistics assets and provides fuels distribution services. Our assets, which are strategically positioned throughout the United States, are managed in our Crude Oil and Products Logistics and Natural Gas and NGL Services operating segments.

Crude Oil and Products Logistics
Our Crude Oil and Products Logistics segment primarily engages in the transportation, storage and distribution of crude oil, asphalt, and refined petroleum and renewable products. The segment includes the operation of our marine business, pipelines, terminals, rail facilities, storage caverns and refining logistics.
Natural Gas and NGL Services
Our Natural Gas and NGL Services segment primarily engages in the gathering, processing and transportation of natural gas as well as the fractionation, storage, transportation and marketing of natural gas liquids (NGLs). We have long-term relationships with a diverse set of producer customers in many crude oil and natural gas resource plays.
Tariffs
Within our business segments, we operate gathering and common carrier pipelines that transport crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids, and refined products throughout the United States. Our tariffs section provides MPLX’s active tariffs.

ENERGY STAR® Challenge for Industry achievement
In 2024, MPLX’s Bluestone natural gas plant in Pennsylvania was recognized as the first facility in the U.S. natural gas processing sector to achieve the EPA’s Energy Star Challenge for Industry. Bluestone surpassed the requirement of lowering its energy intensity by 10% within a five-year period. Bluestone hosted an ENERGY STAR Industrial Showcase to highlight its progress for stakeholders, legislators and members of other industries.
API Distinguished Pipeline Safety Award
MPLX’s subsidiary Marathon Pipe Line LLC (MPL) earned the American Petroleum Institute's (API's) 2023 Distinguished Pipeline Safety Award, a peer selected award that recognized the company for fostering a culture of safety, sharing and implementing best practices, and participating in API policy and technical work.
