Donald C. Templin

Mr. Templin is retired executive vice president of Marathon Petroleum Corporation.  

Prior to joining Marathon Petroleum in 2011, Mr. Templin was the managing partner of the audit practice for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) in Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee. While at PwC, he had more than 25 years of experience providing auditing and advisory services to a wide variety of private, public and multinational companies. Mr. Templin joined PwC in Pittsburgh in 1984. While at PwC, he went on to serve in London, Kazakhstan and Baltimore before assuming his position in Atlanta in 2009. He was appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer of Marathon Petroleum in 2011 and took on the incremental role of chief financial officer of MPLX GP LLC in 2012. Mr. Templin was named executive vice president, Supply, Transportation and Marketing of Marathon Petroleum in 2015. He was appointed executive vice president of Marathon Petroleum and president of MPLX GP LLC in 2016 and president of Marathon Petroleum in 2017. In 2018 he was named president, Refining, Marketing and Supply and was named executive vice president and chief financial officer in 2019.  He retired as Executive Vice President from Marathon Petroleum in 2021. 

Mr. Templin is a graduate of Grove City College, a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He attended the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies in 2012. 

Mr. Templin is a member of the One Energy board of directors. He also serves on the Grove City College Board of Trustees. He previously served on the board of directors of Calgon Carbon Corporation until its sale in March 2018 and was a member of the downstream committee of the American Petroleum Institute (API).
